The film draws from the archive of the Committe Lasciateci Respirare, an autonomous organization operating against the activity of three cement plants in the area of Monselice, a small own in Northern Italy where Miazzi was born and raised.

Lasciateci Respirare is a first attempt to understand how growing up in an environmentally and politically polluted area has affected the way the artist’s body has evolved to function -or rather malfunction. It also constitutes the starting point for the reconstruction of a political and environmental conscience, both individual and collective.

The film includes images of a protest occurring in 1996 to prevent the use of tires as fuel in one of the cement industries present in the area. As several relatives of the artist -who are also founding members of the Committee- appear throughout the film, the work does not only document the history of a territory but also that of a family in which a firm political and environmental awareness is passed from one generation to another.

As the collective sphere intersects with the individual one, reality merges with fiction in the absurdity of the narrated facts that are portrayed like disconnected frames of a nightmare.
